Daffodils form a group of large-flowered members of the genus Narcissus. Daffodils grow perennially from bulbs. In temperate climates they flower among the earliest blooms in spring: to this extent daffodils both represent and herald spring. They often grow in large clusters, covering lawns and even entire hillsides with yellow. All daffodils have a central trumpet-shaped corona surrounded by a ring of petals. The traditional daffodil has a golden yellow color all over, but the trumpet may often feature a contrasting color. Breeders have developed some daffodils with a double or triple row of petals, making them resemble a small golden ball. Other cultivars have frilled petals, or an elongated or compressed central trumpet.

A beautiful Rhododendron in Queen Elizabeth Park at Little Mountain, the highest topographical point in the city of Vancouver.
Annual plant with pale green leaves, a bushy habit and single or double flowers. Tall and dwarf strains are available. Flower colours include yellow, gold, orange and bronze, as well as pastel shades.
"Queen of the Night" Orchid Cactus Flower
These spectacular blossoms (155mm across) appear for about 7 days in our cactus garden and are known as White ORCHID CACTUS Epiphyllum Oxypetalum (Queen of The Night).
Common Name: Columbine Genus: Aquilegia Species: chrysantha Cultivar: 'Yellow Queen' This wonderful Mexican columbine creates a big statement in a border. Its tall stalks carry an abundance of outward-facing, large, bright lemon-yellow flowers with long spurs. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

This newly-bloomed rose is perfectly and beautifully formed yet not fully opened.
Impatiens range from 8 inches to 2 feet tall. Many cultivars will be taller than descriptions in catalogs in hot southern summers. Heat-tolerant cultivars will remain more compact. Flowers are from 1 to 2 inches across. Taller plants produce larger flowers. Flowers can be single, semi-double, or fully double blooms that look like miniature roses. In addition to the many brilliant solid colors, impatiens are available with markings in star, picotee and mosaic patterns.
Wisterias are a magnificent sight when in bloom, with abundant, long, pendent racemes of usually mauve to violet flowers that begin to open as the leaves expand. The flowers are often highly scented.

An old fashioned rich sky blue flowering waterlily. Green leaves with sparse purple specks and small blotches. Sweetly fragrant and a reliable grower.
The Chinese lotus flower (Nelumbo nucifera) is also called the sacred lotus, referring to its symbolism in Buddhism and Hinduism. Native to Asia and northern Australia, this plant is even used in Asian cooking with meals served on its large leaves.
Red Succession (sometimes called a Pincushion)
The latin named Leucospermum are long lasting flowers of the Proteaceae family available in tones of red, orange and yellow. Pincushions are a spring flowering plant and are available from August to October in Australia.
