Parthenon - Athenian Acropolis
The Parthenon is a temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the goddess Athena, whom the people of Athens considered their patron. Its construction began in 447 BC when the Athenian Empire was at the height of its power.

Oia is a small town and former community in the South Aegean on the islands of Thira (Santorini). Oia was previously known as Apano Meria, "upper side", a name which still occurs locally as Pano Meria. Oia or la is well known for its sunsets. Unfortunately; the nights we were there; the sun sank slowly below the hoizon through a gray haze no color; no sunset.

Fira, a city of white-washed houses built on the edge of the 400 metres (1,312 feet) high caldera on the western edge of the semi-circular island of Thera (Santorini).
This passageway leads down to the Museum of Prehistoric Thira.
At night, the white-wash houses of the village of Fira, are bathed in warm colored lights, making a beautiful view.
Santorini Dominican Convent
The Dominican convent is ideally located in the predominantly catholic quarters of Fira, the capital of the island of Santorini, right at the town centre.
Looking north-west in July, this photo was taken 30 minutes before the sunset. Colors are softer and shadows are muted.
