Latin Bridge

Historic Ottoman bridge over the River Miljacka in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The northern end of the bridge was the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria by Gavrilo Princip in 1914, which became a casus belli of World War I.

Magaric Bridge / City Hall

Showing the Magaric Bridge in the foreground. The iconic building was hit by a mortar and burned down during the Bosnian Serb siege of the city in 1992. Sarajevo's city hall - housing the national library - has been re-opened - 22 years after it was destroyed by shelling during the Bosnian War on. The city hall - which was first opened in 1896 - was converted into the national library in 1949.

The Car

This is a replicar car of the one in which the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria took place, located within i few metres of the actual event. This act of terrorism is said to have been the trigger that started the First World War.
