Designed by Yue Minjun and installed in 2009 in Morton Park, at the corner of Davie and Denman Streets in Vancouver's West End. The patinated bronze sculpture portrays the artist's own image "in a state of hysterical laughter".
PAULINE JOHNSON (March 1861 – 7 March 1913), a celebrated Canadian born First Nations poet/writer's ashes were buried near Siwash Rock in Stanley Park. In 1922 a cairn was erected at the burial site, with an inscription reading in part, "in memory of one whose life and writings were an uplift and a blessing to our nation."
First Beach, also called English Bay Beach, located along Beach Ave between Gilford St and Bidwell St, is the most populated beach area in Vancouver's downtown area. The Stanley Park Seawall, a popular running and biking route, runs along the east side of the beach.
The Lions Gate Bridge, opened in 1938, officially known as the First Narrows Bridge, is a suspension bridge that crosses the first narrows of Burrard Inlet.
From a Kayak, Vancouver's cityscape is nearly always framed by surrounding mountains and ocean. Vancouver's downtown core and the famous Stanley Park share a peninsula bordered by two prime ocean kayaking locations.
Located at Ferguson Point in Stanley Park, Third Beach is a naturally sandy beach surrounded by trees that shield dippers and tanners from urban noise. This is a great beach for quiet bathing, picnics, and watching sunsets.

Siwash Rock, also known by its Squamish name Skalsh or Slhx̱i7lsh, is a famous rock outcropping in Vancouver's Stanley Park. A legend among the Indigenous Squamish surrounds the rock. It is between 15 and 18 metres tall (50–60 feet).
The bridge connects the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, to the North Shore municipalities of the District of North Vancouver, the City of North Vancouver, and West Vancouver. The term "Lions Gate" refers to The Lions, a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver. Northbound traffic on the bridge heads in their general direction. A pair of cast concrete lions, designed by sculptor Charles Marega, were placed on either side of the south approach to the bridge in January, 1939.
