This series of shots was taken during day trips with my wife. I didn't take a lot of time composing my shots as photography was not our main purpose for our day together.

Lone Tree Point
There are only a few good view points on the east shore of Port Phillip Bay - this is one of them.
The Catholic Church of St James - south side
In the early morning hours of March 15 this beautiful old church, North Rd church, dating back over 120 years, was destroyed in a suspected arson attack in March 2015, gutted by fire, suspected as being an act of arson. The fire destroyed its roof and everything inside, including mosaics and stained glass windows. Since the blaze, Mass has been held at the neighbouring Star of the Sea College. No charges have been laid regarding the fire, which was one of numerous other suspicious church blazes believed to have been linked to past paedophile priests.

There are many conspiracy theories surrounding the arson destruction of this church relating to the childhood abuse by a former clergy.
The Catholic Church of St James - east side
To my mind, there is an almost etherial tone to this capture. The rays of the sun from behind the standing east wall is fitting to the scene.
Lone Tree
The lack of people on the beach is testimony to the cool temperatures even though the day was bright and sunny.
Superb Fairy-wren
Spot me if you can. Adult male Superb Fairy-wrens are among the most brightly coloured of the species, especially during the breeding season. They have rich blue and black plumage above and on the throat. The belly is grey-white and the bill is black. Male Superb Fairy-wrens have been labelled as 'the least faithful birds in the world'. Females may be courted by up to 13 males in half an hour, and 76% of young are sired by males from outside the social group.
St Kilda Lighthouse
Built in 1961, this lighthouse is owned and maintained by the St Kilda Marina. A white reinforced concrete tower with 6 sides.
