Gold Creek Falls - 27 May

This location is about a kilometre below the Lower Falls. If you look closely at the surface of the water, you will see the rain pelting the surface of the creek.
Just below the falls is this stretch of Gold Creek filled with large smooth boulders. The rushing water has rounded the boulders to very smooth surfaces.
Gold Creek Falls - AKA Lower Falls
This photo was taken from a position immediately below the falls. With mist rising above the falls, and during a heavy downpour of rain, we did our best to position ourselves safely below the falls to get these photos. The water is clear and cold and the rapids below the falls are marked by numerous deep pools.
This is just below the falls. I've used a slow shutter speed here to soften and blur the flow of the water. The stones beneath the water's surface appear out-of-focus, but this is the result of the long exposure.
Higher and to the left, this photo shows the mist created by the rushing water. During a rainy period, the volume of water immediately increases along with the roar of the falling water. It's a total sensory experience.
