Taken from Princes Bridge, looking southwest over the Yarra River. This photo has been deliberately darkened to add drama.
The Hoddle Bridge, opened on 22 December 1938, is an arch bridge over the Yarra River between Richmond and South Yarra, Melbourne, Australia. It carries Punt Road across the Yarra. It is a four-lane road bridge with narrow footpaths on either side. It is of continuous reinforced concrete T-beam construction with five segmental arched spans, supported on transverse piers, and linked by concrete cross-beams. The bridge, named after Robert Hoddle, replaced an earlier footbridge, which in turn had replaced a punt service.

The Cathedral is built in the neo-Gothic transitional style, that is, partly Early English and partly Decorated. It was designed by the distinguished English architect William Butterfield, who was noted for his ecclesiastical work. The foundation stone was laid in 1880.
This photo was taken from aboard a boat on the Yarra River looking west. Known as Southbank or Southgate, Melbourne's bustling waterfront hub, which is renowned for restaurants, public art and stylish retailers. It's a great place to explore with endless photo opportunities.

Flinders Street Railway Station
I cautiously took this shot from the crosswalk just before the oncoming traffic began moving toward me. Flinders Street railway station is on the corner of Flinders and Swanston Streets in Melbourne, Australia. It serves the entire metropolitan rail network. Backing onto the city reach of the Yarra River in the heart of the city, the complex covers two whole city blocks and extends from Swanston Street to Queen Street.
The rendering in this image was inspired by Julia Anna Gospodarou, a fine art photographer. This was originally a full colour photo converted to black and white, painted with light and tinted with a sepia tone.
This shot wouldn't have been the same 15 years ago as the buildings in this photo have recently been constructed.
Spanning the Yarra River, the bridge connects Swanston Street on the north bank of the Yarra River to St Kilda Road on the south bank, and carries road, tram and pedestrian traffic. The present bridge was built in 1888 and is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
The Yarra River is crossed by many bridges, both traffic and pedestrian. Here I took a shot of kayakers paddling under the Princes Bridge.
Known in the Western world as the "Chinese violin" or a "Chinese two-stringed fiddle". I could not pass by this beautiful young woman in her traditional Chinese costume without taking this photo.
This shot looks west over the Hoddle Bridge to the Melbourne CBD and sports precinct in between.
