Located below the chalet in the Mt Buffalo National Park, this quaint structure overs some shelter on windy or raining days. The hut has a fireplace at both ends, but these are no longer used.
This mountain stream is the Eurobin River. At this point, the river cuts its way through a granite boulder field creating this cascade. The water from recent rains is crystal clear of pure.
People drive from all over Australia to see these beautiful autumn colours near the Alpine Shire town of Bright.
The Gorge is a vertical granite wall just metres from the hut. The well-fenced lookout provides spectacular views of the valley far below, but on may occasions one can only see rolling fog. which creates a spooky view with only the sound of the wind blowing up from below.

The shrouded scene changes every moment as the clouds swirl, twist and evaporate. Just twenty metres from this spot, hang-gliders launch from a platform carrying intrepid adventurers to the valley below.
This photo shows a portion of the stream that falls less rapidly but makes that unique noise of water rushing over rocks.
A colour photo shows the blue sky as the sun works at burning off the blanket of clouds. It's hard t know whether the mist should be called cloud or fog. I guess it's a matter of perspective.
The morning dew on this cobweb juxtaposes the jagged barbwire fence.
There will never be enough time to hear the magical sounds of the wind whispering through the trees, nor view the rolling alpine mist.
