Artistic Rendering - Stari Grad Lane
We could have spent hours exploring these narrow lanes. They were completely free of the trash one associates with alley-ways and around every corner another scene was waiting to be photographed.
This delightful forest path invites visitors to take a leisurely stroll in the cool shade of the large trees. Just moments after taking this picture, a family of Lyrebirds ran across this path from right to left. I was too slow to get a picture.

This street scene might look staged, but it reflects the pride of the people of Stari Grad to show their ancient city at its best. In the photo we see stone walls, arched entrances to homes, an arch across the road, and a church steeple in the background. The colourful flowers and decorative trees in pots are the final touch.
The Fitzroy Gardens are an important remnant of the city's nineteenth-century garden heritage. Of historical significance as one of a ring of public reserves around Melbourne established in the nineteenth century to provide respite and relaxation for the city's residents.

Narrow Street, Stari Grad, Hvar
The ancient city of Stari Grad, Hvar is said to be one of the oldest cities on the Mediterranean.
This narrow lane provides access to the rear of shops along Battery Rd, the main retail shopping street.
This path winds its way around the perimeter of the park providing shaded restful areas to sit and enjoy the peaceful surrounds. Melbourne is known for its hundreds of small neighbourhood parks each with their own beauty.
This passageway leads down to the Museum of Prehistoric Thira.

Narrow Streets of Old Dubrovnik
These streets were wide enough to allow a horse, donkey and cart to pass, but mostly, people simply walked these narrow streets. Old Dubrovnik is still the permanent address of many citizens who make this ancient city their home.
