The Queens Bridge is a historic road bridge over the Yarra River in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The bridge was built in 1889 and has five wrought iron plate girder spans, and is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
Standing 57 stories high, the Rialto was completed in 1985. For many years it was the tallest building in the southern hemisphere and is admired for its graceful elegance. Many see this building as marking the beginning of Melbourne's revitalization into a modern metropolis rivaling the great cities of the world.
The Yarra River is the dividing line between the Melbourne CBD and its Southbank precincts. Here it creates a reflecting pool for the night lights of the office buildings in the city.
